Lesson 7, Day 46: Ask Yourself “How?”

Your Dis-Ease is Your Teacher

Learning from your dis-ease means trying to understand not only how to get well, but how you became sick. It can be a long process with no clear answers, but many revealing moments along the way.

The truth for many people with chronic, mystery illnesses is that there are multiple layers of reasons. The “how” of dis-ease occurred with a complex cascade of pathogens, environmental toxins, nutritional deficiencies and genetic predispositions to a certain illness. How to get well from all of those factors means learning to address all options.

Killing cancer cells or taking drugs to suppress pain or inflammation will not heal your body from dis-ease. It will remove some symptoms. Learn everything you can about how your symptoms feed and grow in the environment you created. How have you built your four rooms to become the perfect home for your dis-ease?

Above all else, while you are struggling to heal your physical room, attend to the emotional and mental room. How? Forgive. Forgive your dis-ease for bringing you hardship and express gratitude to it for all that you have learned from it.

Affirmation: As I sit in silence, I ask my body, mind and spirit what I need to learn about myself from this experience of dis-ease.
