Day 1: Give yourself permission to heal
We think of sickness as a physical issue. Healing is a nonphysical issue.
How can that be? You feel pain. You see abnormal cells on a biopsy or scan. You react to food and allergens. You experience the trap of addiction. Your symptoms are physical. Your body is physical. Your dis-ease is nonphysical.
It’s time to stop using your diagnosis as a label that defines who you are. You are not your dis-ease, you are not your diagnosis and you are certainly not a prognosis given to you by your medical team. Whatever your diagnosis – cancer, depression, autoimmune/ inflammatory illness, anxiety, chronic pain, chemical imbalance – that is not your dis-ease, that is your symptom. The dis-ease is your belief that this is who you are.
Your first lesson in healing is to give yourself permission to heal.
Affirmation: It is my desire to heal my body. I make the decision today to follow the path to healing. I set aside all beliefs I may hold about sickness and give myself permission to heal and be well again. Throughout the day, I remember that I am not my diagnosis. I do not think about or speak about a future where sickness exists.
