Everything is energy.
Sounds simple enough. We think of the energy of food in terms of nutritional calories, the measure of the amount of heat energy in food. Each Calorie (kilocalorie) in food is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water by 1 degree Celsius.
In this sense, any food source contains nutritional calories providing energy that your body burns as fuel. We know that not all calories are beneficial to the body though. Maybe there’s a better way to look at the food we eat in terms of healing and eliminating dis-ease.
Before you adopt a new diet plan based on popular trends, begin with a simple exercise with the foods you currently eat. Mindfully choose your food based on how it makes you feel. Look at the choice in front of you. Do you feel resentful or guilty? Even the healthiest, highest vibration foods will not benefit you if the emotions you carry are a low vibration.
Whatever food you choose to eat, ask that the food work for the highest good of your body. Be present in your awareness, be willing to ask your body if this food or drink is really what it needs. If you don’t currently pray before you eat, get into the habit of silently offering gratitude for the food you are provided, and ask that it nourish your body for your highest good.
About 30 minutes after eating, observe how you feel. If you are tired and sluggish, or full and uncomfortable, make a note of the food you ate and plan to choose something more nourishing at your next meal.
Instead of starting your healing with a drastic change in diet, The Course in Healing begins with changing your thoughts, your emotions and your connections to food.
Much of what you eat is chosen by your dis-ease, not by your healing. When you become aware of this, you begin to seek foods that benefit your body chemistry for healing.
Affirmation: I love and respect myself. I choose to eat and drink energy that will benefit all aspects of my healing.
